Guidelines is an assist line which can be used to facilitate object fixation. Click on ruler (vertical/horizontal ruler) and move the mouse pointer to a location where you want the guidelines reside and release mouse button. With guidelines you can patch object to another object or guideline itself more easily and equally:
The guidelines also can be slanted into a cursive form by rotating horizontal or vertical guidelines. The first step is to determine the actual guidelines you want to rotate. Click on the guidelines twice until a round symbol

Finally, if you want to erase a guidelines, simply click on a guidelines and press Delete button.
2. Dynamic Guidelines
The Dynamic guidelines could be said to acts as a complementary to guidelines which serves to give additional information regarding the movement of object, for example: the distance the object moves from previous position or object movement guidance, so as to better position the object. You can activate or deactivate dynamic guidelines by clicking View menu > Dynamice Guides or press Alt+Shift+D buttons:
*Note: the above picture shows that the object is being dragged to up-right direction for up to 4.25 inches interval and with the inclination at 45 degrees of angle, while the square object on the right side is a final position of object after being moved.
The dynamic guidelines is set in default mode which carry it origin adjusment, for example: angles of inclination set at 0, 45, and 60 degrees, etc. This and other adjustment can be further re-adjusted in case you need to modify its features. Read below instructions:
